November 9, 2011 – According to reports a multi-vehicle collision involved a Brea police vehicle on the I-5 Freeway. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada stated the multi-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. on the I-5 Freeway at Main Street.
Officer Quesada said that there were at least three vehicles involved in the collision including a Brea police vehicle and a Newport Beach Fire Department SUV. According to Brea Police Department Lt. Darren Devereux the Brea police vehicle involved in the accident, the officer was on his way to a parole search when he was involved in the collision. Lt. Devereux said that male officer and female refused medical attention.
Newport Beach Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Schulz stated that the emergency manager was involved in the collision, who was on their way to attend a meeting.
